742 The remote server does not support encryption

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 12:28 AM 0 comments
Ok someone ask me why he's getting error when connecting to their enterprise Virtual Private Network (VPN) regarding support encryption.

Microsoft improves handling user security and they simply want you to use maximum strength encryption. Here's how to update your workstation encryption settings.
  • Click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
  • Right-click the VPN connection, and then click Properties.
  • Click the Security tab, click Advanced (custom settings), and click Settings.
  • In the Data encryption box, click Maximum strength encryption (disconnect if server declines), and then click OK two times.

Now try again, you should be able to connect to your enterprise Virtual Private Network. If not, please post your comments here and I will check it again.
I published an article regarding the first 100 registered domain names last January of 2008. I learned today that Symbolics.com was sold to XF.com Investment for an undisclose amount.

"Symbolics.com, the first domain name ever registered, has changed hands for the first time since its original registration on March 15, 1985. Missouri-based XF.com Investments purchased the historic Internet address from the Symbolics company for an undisclosed price. Symbolics sold the domain even though the company is still in operation nearly 25 years after they made history by registering the name. Since that initial domain registration a quarter of a century ago 180 million domains names have been registered!" (2009, DNJournal.com)

Advertising is a key for your business?

I watched this video by Dr. Bob Parsons asking people about his GoDaddy.com commercial, the result is 17/30 through random people.

One comment from California is "All the chicks with big boobs" and Dr. Bob Parsons says we need to advertise more. Some feedback because of Danica Patrick as being the endorser. My personal opinion, GoDaddy created their brand but marketing to the wrong crowd. Maybe not.

I've seen GoDaddy.com commercials through the Internet and in TV. I know their business, products and services but the results of 17 YES they know GoDaddy and 13 NO (out of 30 people) results from millions of advertising budget is a dissappointing results. Maybe not, if the goal is to create deep branding of GoDaddy.com.

As entrepreneur, I've seen that we still have enough market to introduce our respective products and services to local businesses. Still plenty of opportunity.

Go out there and make more money.

  3. In User properties, click on E-Mail Addresses tab, click Add.
  4. In SMTP address, type the email address. For example, YourName@YourOwnBusinessName.com, then click on OK. You will see it added to your email address list.
  5. Still in User Properties, you will see the Set as Reply in grey color (or disabled)
  6. Uncheck the "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on email address policy". You will the Set as Reply enabled.

  10. Enjoy.
If you ask, why uncheck the "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on email address policy" and what is the effect to your email system?

Answer: Any changes to your Hub Transport policy will not be enforce to the users you uncheck the automatically update e-mail address policy.

If this is not accepted within your organization policy, then you need to create the user using the correct email address.

eBay Quality Click Pricing

I've got news from eBay Partner Network announcing Quality Click Pricing, a new payout structure designed to reward the affiliates. It's a similar model of pay per click (PPC) with a twist of traffic quality defined by the eBay network.

"Over the past year, we’ve taken several steps to improve the quality of traffic driven to eBay sites through eBay Partner Network, and we’re pleased to report that our efforts are paying off. Today we’re announcing Quality Click Pricing, a new payout structure designed to further reward the affiliates who drive incremental transactions on eBay and who send value buyers to our sites. We’re also unveiling a number of resources, tips and data to help publishers become even more successful under this new payment model." (2009, eBayPartnerNetworkBlog.com)

The new description fits to what we're doing right now, sharing information on how you can make money online, sharing technology knowledge, adword marketing, new affiliates offering, advertising and other money making related opportunities out there.

This is not my full time gig so I'm open to all visitors interested to guest post in King.net (send email to em @king.net). We share a common goal, a dollar richer tomorrow. This will be our stepping stone to make millions.

For unknown reasons, my laptop stop working for me. I have no success after booting up and troubleshooting. So I decided to restore from factory default. I can re-install all the softwares I need for my daily routine tasks but what about my precious data (personal and projects)?

Thanks to Mozy online backup service. I download the Windows client, install this to my laptop and start restoring my project data. If I remember it correctly, I setup my personal Mozy beginning March of 2009. All files back to my workstation. This is a great service. I am currently using the personal version that provides free 2GB of data. This is more than enough to cover my project data that I constantly making updates. I don't have to worry about backup because Mozy do it for me automatically.

If you love the service and would like to backup your entire data for unlimited space, Get Mozy Unlimited.

Managing Exchange Server is easy when you configure it correctly, you need to apply some patches to fix it and continuous monitoring of your server health. Most common issue from the default installation of Exchange Server 2007 is excessive memory, high CPU utilization or application pool resets in IIS.

Here's a simple guide to correct this problem.
- First visit http://support.microsoft.com for the updated release.
- Install the hotfix 942027 for Exchange Server 2007

Reminder, always backup your Exchange Server before your maintenance schedule.

If this help you, please don't forget to share it here.

Something to think about. Taxes.

Something to think about.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for
all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our
taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with
the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you
are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of
your daily beer by $20."Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes
so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for
free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could
they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?'

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they
subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would
each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it
would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he
proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 ( 22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four
continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the
men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20,"declared the sixth man. He
pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a
dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10
back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't
get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine
sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the
bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money
between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is
how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get
the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them
for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they
might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

5 Minutes Practical Management Course

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 3:01 AM 0 comments
I've got this email from a friend that he knew that I'm in management work and this will relates to me. I disagree, this is for everyone. I call it 5 minutes Practical Management Course, so here you go. Enjoy.

5 minutes Practical Management Course

Lesson 1:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'
'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'
Puff! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.'

Puff! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager.
The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after
lunch.'

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 2:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 3:

A turkey was chatting with a bull.

'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.'
'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 4:

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
friend.

(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep
your mouth shut!

If you like it, please share your family and friends that needs a break, 'till next time...

3D TV in 2010

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 3:15 AM 0 comments
After watching G-Force and Ice Age in 3D with my kids so what is next? Well actually a company in UK already started bringing 3D programming into the home as well. This is a technology that I'm dreaming 10 years ago and now I am close to reality.

"Not just content with making a splash on the big screen, content providers are also set on bringing 3-D programming into the home as well. Sky TV plans to launch a dedicated 3-D channel in the UK next year.
The station will offer a smattering of sports, movies, and entertainment-related content, all piped through to the living room via a set-top box. This seems to lineup with Panasonic's plans to have 3-D movies in the home by 2010 as well." (2009, PopSci.com)

Whaddya know the First known arrest for domain name theft?

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 3:02 AM 0 comments
Not until last July 30, 2009 when New Jersey State Police Cyber Crime Units arrested Daniel Goncalvez on charges of stealing P2P.com domain name.

"Detectives charged Daniel Goncalves, 25, of Union Township, with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, theft of identity, and computer theft, all crimes of the second degree.

Troopers also executed a search warrant at his residence. The arrest and search warrant were the culmination of a State Police investigation into the theft of P2P.com, an Internet domain name. A large volume of business and computer records relevant to the alleged domain name theft were seized.

Goncalves was processed and released on $60,000 cash bail pending court." (2009, bergennow.com)

After reading this news posted in Bergennow.com, I'm curious to know the buyer of P2P.com domain name. A quick internet search and find out it was Mark Madsen (NBA Clippers Forward, formerly member of Lakers). He is an active domain name entrepreneurs and investors while playing professional basketball. As of this date, he currenly own 3,336 domain names under his name. Here's a short list of his sold portfolio, denial.com (sold for $6,100 in eBay), finch.com, funk.tv, geeks.tv, etc.

I think he is selling mcommerce.com at this time.

"Daniel Gonclave, 25, of Union, N.J., is suspected of hacking into the GoDaddy.com account of p2p.com's previous owner, transferring ownership to himself and then selling it to Madsen on eBay for $111,000. Although the domain name may have been illegally acquired, Madsen reportedly still owns it." (2009, Latimes.com)

Mark Madsen is also active in blogging and twitting.

When you try to change your network user password, you receive this error "password cannot be changed because it was changed in the last 10 days." This is a Password Policy setup in your Windows Active Directory security policy.

Here's where you can check your Password Policy. Please note, you need Active Directory administrator rights to manage your AD Server.
  • Login to your Active Directory (AD) server using Administrator or equivalent rights.
  • Click on Start, All Programs, Administrative Tools, then Domain Security Policy.
  • In Default Domain Security Settings, click on + sign in Account Policies. This will show you the Password Policy, Account Lockout Policy and Kerberos Policy.
  • Click on Password Policy, you will see in the right box the following policies e.g. Enforce password history, Maximum password age, Minimum password age, Minimum password length, etc.
  • Double click on Minimum password age to see the properties.
  • In Security Policy Setting tab, this is where you can manage the number of days you want your password can be changed after.
  • Let's try, 3 day
  • Click on Apply to execute.
With this example, you just change your password age to 3 days. Meaning, when you change your password on September 11 you can only change it after 3 days on Sept 14. This is required to enforce password history policy.

Google Adsense for Domains making changes?

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 12:18 AM
I'm not sure if Google Adsense for Domains started making changes to your parked domain names, by providing different looks. For example, I've checked one of my domainMotels.com.cn and refresh 3 times (try again if you don't see the new pages).

Please see the 3 different captured images.

Let me know if you see these changes for your parked domain names. If you do, please post your domain name so I can check it as well. I'm curious if this is specific to a certain keywords, category or something else.
