US Cyber Command logo. Cracked Code.

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 7:15 AM 0 comments
I read an article in Wired.com regarding on how you can read the US Cyber Command code around the logo (9ec4c12949a4f31474f299058ce2b22a).

Here's the step I did to get this code.

  • Visit the website http://www.md5hashgenerator.com to generate the MD5 hashed code.
  • In the String box, cut this statement (USCYBERCOM plans, coordinates, integrates, synchronizes and conducts activities to: direct the operations and defense of specified Department of Defense information networks and; prepare to, and when directed, conduct full spectrum military cyberspace operations in order to enable actions in all domains, ensure US/Allied freedom of action in cyberspace and deny the same to our adversaries.) and paste it.
  • Click Generate MD5 Hash, and you will see your MD5 Hash.

Website Security Checks (CAPTCHA) really need to improve

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 10:25 PM 0 comments

I forgot my password in my LinkedIn and I'm trying to retrieve it. The security checks CAPTCHA words are not readable, c'mon two words to type is ok as long as I can read it. Here's a sample captured "security checks".

1st images:
These security checks help us prevent unauthorized access to your account.
Get a new challengeGet an audio challengeHelp
Type the characters shown in the image above (not case sensitive).

I don't know about you, but I can't read this message so I clicked refresh, and got this new CAPTCHA words.

2nd refresh.
These security checks help us prevent unauthorized access to your account.
Get a new challengeGet an audio challengeHelp
Type the characters shown in the image above (not case sensitive).

A little better compared to the previous CAPTCHA security, but still not able to answer the second word. Maybe I read it wrong. So I refresh again hoping to see a better words for security check.

3rd refresh:
These security checks help us prevent unauthorized access to your account.
Get a new challengeGet an audio challengeHelp
Type the characters shown in the image above (not case sensitive).

Maybe, not my lucky day to get an easy two words security codes (CAPTCHA), so I gave up and leave the website.

How many visitors do you think have decided to leave after frustration of reading the security checks (CAPTCHA)? I have no statistic, or any reference to support this story, but I'm sure I am one of them.

Add a printer attached to the network

Posted by Support @ Whaddya.com On 6:50 AM 0 comments
Adding a printer to the network is a simple task to complete but you forgot this knowledge if you don't use it. So this is a simple guide on how you can add a printer to your network active directory.

I normally assign static IP Address to the printer to avoid conflict and management purpose. If you don't have this information you need the assistance of your IT Network Admin. For example, the IP Address is 192.168.10.210 assign to our new HP LaserJet printer. When you power-up your printer for the first time, it will pick-up an IP Address from the DHCP server. All you have to do is change this IP Address, and then we are ready to add the printer to the network.
