from them years ago.

So why Bob Parsons or GoDaddy doesn't want you to register .TV? Maybe he was not able to get what he want for .TV or maybe he doesn't like the current management of .TV registry.
For whatever reason, business must go on and deal other opportunity if you fail to get one. You win some and you lose some. That's one part being a businessman.
Tuvalu is sinking! This is not a flash news, everyone in the domain name industry already knew it. Searching the Internet, you will see the article written by Kevin Maney year 2004 discussing the opportunity and risk in domain name investment. In this article "VeriSign spokesman Tom Galvin tells me that a defunct country's Internet domain lives on." (2009, USAToday.com). But, ICANN published an article in opposite direction of Tom Galvin's statement. I can't find the document, still searching the Internet and ICANN for this information.
It's just a matter time to find out what will be the future of .TV domain name. I highly recommend that ICANN change the status of .TV from ccTLD to one of gTLD extension, and also consider changing the price format of .TV domain name registration. Use the .com .net and .org registration cost, remove the premium .TV registration.
